I’ve broken at least 3 of these already trying to insert it into my top bun. I have waist length hair that’s thick altogether, but my hairs are very thin… and I almost always have my hair up in a messy knotted bun for work. They’re not as thick and sturdy as some other plastic ones I’ve had (which I ultimately also broke or lost?). But if I’m just trying to stabilize my floppy bun with a fork, without trying to twist or bend, these are fine… and there’s a lot of them for pretty cheap. It will be quite some time before I break 30+Also, there isn’t really much texture on the forks. Even a ponytail can be too painful to manage. However, two of these pins will keep my hair in a bun all day long so I don’t need to think about it, and once my hair is twisted into a bun, there isn’t any real pain in putting in the pins.The biggest drawback is that with my thick, curly hair, they often break after only 4-5 uses. However, for me they are cheap enough and work well enough to still make them a worthwhile purchase.These hair pins are awesome for buns, messy or neat.
